Commercial Partnership Programme for Vulcan
May 16: Following the successful Pledge campaign to which over 10,000 people generously donated, funding is now available to secure the immediate future of Vulcan XH558. The Charity that operates this iconic and much loved aircraft, the Vulcan to the Sky Trust (VTST), is now introducing a range of new ways to help finance and support the aircraft through these troubled times and to secure its long term future.
Vulcan to the Sky Enterprises Ltd, the commercial arm of the Trust, has launched a brand new Commercial Partnership Programme (CPP), which is based on three entry levels, all with very reasonable rates for a 12 month period of support. The CPP is a new initiative to encourage small and medium sized businesses to get involved with this legendary aircraft, which helped to keep the peace during the dangerous Cold War years.
The key aims are to inspire the next generation of designers and engineers through the Vulcan’s awesome displays at the nation’s air shows and to educate youngsters in basic Science and Engineering, along with the history of the Cold War era. It is planned that XH558 will have a ten year flying life and then be preserved for the nation in perpetuity.
In return for the support of individual companies, a package of business gifts and incentives are being offered –all aimed at bringing valuable association with the aircraft to the company and providing important networking opportunities with like minded organisations, together with advertising to website visitors, Vulcan to the Sky Club members and the Friends of the Vulcan. A total number of 30,000 now directly support the Vulcan and this is growing by the day.
Richard Clarke, spokesman for the Trust said “We rely primarily on many small donations and sponsorship to support this amazing aircraft, which is much loved by the British public. It was the very public love of this – the ‘people’s aircraft’ - that helped to save her recently, with over £500,000 being pledged in just one week!
“Developing this on a more commercial basis will help to widen our Educational goals and really make the project a valuable marketing tool within the business community, especially as they will be able benefit directly from this incredible public support.”
Packages within the Commercial Partnership Programme are as follows; Silver - £500, Gold - £1,000, Platinum - £2,000.
