March 1: The Turkish Stars, the national display team of the Turkish Air Force has confirmed that it is to participate in this year’s Waddington International Airshow over the weekend of July 3/4.

The team is an infrequent visitor to the UK, last appearing at the Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford in 2008, although the airshow was cancelled due to bad weather.

Flying eight NF-5A ‘Freedom Fighters’, the team is best known for its enthusiastic commentary and flamboyant flying, it making a notable debut in 1996 at Fairford’s Air Tattoo.

Looking forward to seeing these guys again - have fond memories of them displaying at the late lamented Air Fete. The F5 is a lovely aircraft!
