Australia defends NH90
Australia says it's happy with its proposed NHIndustries MRH90 helicopter.
Gary Parsons - 3-Mar-2010
March 3: Australian news agency National Nine News says that the Australian Defence Force (ADF) is happy with its proposed NHIndustries MRH90 helicopter purchase despite a recent German military report slamming the NH90 TTE version.
A spokesman for the ADF told the news agency that it was seeking an English translation of the German Army trial report and it would be reviewed in detail, but claimed that the aircraft has “excellent potential”.
The ADF is acquiring 44 MRH90s to replace Australian Army Aviation Corps Black Hawk and Iroquois helicopters and Royal Australian Navy Sea Kings at a cost of A$3.3 billion (€2.2 billion).
