March 5: The Royal Australian Air Force’s new F/A-18F Super Hornets may escort Air Force One on their delivery flight from the US, reports newspaper The Australian.
President Obama is due to visit Canberra on March 23 on his first official visit to Australia to address a joint sitting of the federal parliament. Four F/A-18Fs are slated for delivery at that time, but the newspaper says it is “not known if they will be armed for their VIP escort mission”.
