Aerial firefighting: Combatting wildfires in the Czech Republic

During late July, the Czech Republic saw one of its worst ever wildfires that spanned over a week. Alan Warnes travelled to the affected areas to see the aerial firefighting operation unfold.

Helicopters from both the military and police forces of three different countries, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Poland were dispatched to Usti nad Labem airfield in late July. The massive Bohemian Switzerland National Park in northwestern Czech Republic was on fire.
