Aeroflot poised for major overhaul

The Russian flag carrier is responding to international sanctions with a significant aircraft order and plans to rehash its network

Aeroflot has signed an agreement with Russian aerospace powerhouse United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) under which it will acquire more than 300 domestically produced airliners. The deal covers the lease of 210 Irkut MC-21s, 89 SSJ-NEWs (an updated variant of the Superjet 100 featuring all-domestic components) and 40 Tupolev Tu-214s to the Aeroflot Group between 2023 and 2030.
