The multi-engined end of the warbird spectrum is, by de finition, a smaller field than its fighter counterpart. The aeroplanes are fewer in number and costlier to operate, while for pilots the opportunities to gain experience on such types are that much less. Those who have amassed plenty of heavy historic aircraft time can, therefore, find themselves in great demand.
