In the warbird world, New Zealand punches well above what might be considered its weight. This is not to damn with faint praise; rather, it’s a comment on the quite outstanding levels of engineering and craftsmanship on hand in a country with a much smaller population than the USA or UK, where the industry’s big players have traditionally been found. The contracts placed with New Zealand-based restoration companies by aircraft owners from far afield bear out just how well-regarded they are.
