An interview with Winfried Diekmann
Aerosoft is always busy it seems. Its biggest projects of the last few years have been Airbus packages - the old Airbus X was one of the first A320s available for FSX. With the recent release of the new Airbus pack: the A318/ A319 professional - the company’s first Airbus for Prepar3D v4, we decided to talk to Aerosoft’s Managing Director, Winfried Diekmann, at the his offices in Paderborn, where we discussed all things Airbus.
PC Pilot: The Aerosoft Airbus series has been one of your most popular products and now that you have released the newest version, the A318/A319 professional for Prepar3D v4. How challenging has development been and can you highlight some of the diffulties?
Aerosoft: We are very pleased that the product has now been released. The problem for us at the time was that we had around 15 to 20 beta testers who were spread around the world, so sometimes it was difficult, with the various time zones, to get them all in at the same time. Also, it was tricky to get them to connect with the development team. This team is managed by Mathijs Kok, who lives in France, which is 1,200km (approx 745 miles) from here. The main prog…
