The airport is a popular base for gliders, ultralights and other general aviation aircraft. It is surrounded by a scenic landscape, including forests and mountains, which makes it a popular destination for sightseeing flights. Additionally, the airfield hosts various events throughout the year, including fly-ins and gliding competitions.

The package for Microsoft Flight Simulator is a true-to-life recreation of the actual airport, sporting details such as high-resolution objects and PBR (Physically Based Rendering) textures based on photos taken on-site.

Other highlights include the railroad behind the airfield, a detailed recreation of the tower with interior modelling, animated windsocks and custom night lighting. The package is available on Aerosoft’s website for €6.00.
