Aerospace Bristol to host enhanced Concorde tours

Concorde enthusiasts have a chance to enjoy a special access 90-minute technical tour of the Filton-based museum’s star attraction

On Saturday, April 15 Aerospace Bristol is introducing regular 90-minute technical tours of Alpha-Foxtrot, the last Concorde to be built at Filton and the last to fly (in November 2003). Concorde is also a subject in the current FlyPast magazine (May 2023 issue).

Enthusiasts will be able to sit inside the airliner and listen to expert guides explain Concorde’s history from her design and test flying through to the transatlantic service that attracted showbiz stars and business tycoons. The rear cabin will be set up with crockery and cutlery in Concorde’s famous livery as it would have been in service.

A detailed technical tour will be conducted under the aircraft with the engine bay doors opened and there will be also be a flight deck talk using the training simulator in the mezzanine exhibition area. There will be plenty of photo opportunities and to have questions answered by tour guides, former employees of BAC Filton and Weybridge and former Concorde At Filton guides. Refreshments and souvenir ‘flight certificates’ will also be part of the experience.

The technical tours, costing £30, will begin at 4.30pm on April 15 and will be limited to 24 guests. Advance booking here.
