African commercial cargo fflights

Cargo services provider Astral Aviation plans to become Africa’s first commercial UAV operator to ly commercial cargo services. It has signed a letter of intent for two 250kg-payload (551lb) Lucas-F250 aircraft from the UAE’s Falcon Drones Technology. The order includes an option for ten more in 2019. Astral plans to start domestic operations by 2019, pending approval from Kenyan lawmakers, and then regional and continental flights, initially focusing on delivering aid, post, medicine, schoolbooks and equipment for the oil and gas industry. UAV operations will be lown by subsidiary Astral Aerial Solutions, which also plans to operate the Singular Aircraft FlyOx and the Aircraft Traders Belgium Guardian Eye and ly a large UAV from Natilus.
