Beginning from July, flights from the Finnish capital will initially operate four times a week
Air France has announced that its new year-round service between Helsinki and Paris-Charles De Gaulle is set to begin from July 6.
This is the first time the airline has taken off from the airport in 20 years.
“The route boosts leisure travel to Finland and offers good connections to easily reach our attractive country, like Lapland, Lakeland, Archipelago and the capital Helsinki,” said Petri Vuori, SVP airline sales and route development, Finnavia.
“The re-opening gives excellent connections from Finland around the world as Air France has an extensive global network offering interesting destinations especially in Caribbean, South-America and Africa.”
Initially, the route is planned to operate four times a week – Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays – with plans to make it a daily journey from July 19.
The introduction of this new service adds to the carrier’s presence within the Nordic region, as it already services Copenhagen, Billund, Oslo, Bergen, Stockholm and Gothenburg.
These flights will work alongside those run by Finnair whilst being operated by Air France on a codeshare basis.
