For the first time in an many years, Air India has rightly been in the media spotlight recently. In February 2023, the newly re-privatised airline made headlines worldwide with its record-breaking airliner purchase. The multi-billion dollar deal – for 470 Airbus and Boeing examples – was the largest single aircraft order, ever. This eye-watering agreement was merely the first indicator of things to come, with Air India continuing to signal its intention to resume its mantle as a major player in global aviation.
