Norwegian Air Runway Error
Pilots of a Norwegian Air UK Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner began take off from a position more than 1,312ft (400m) after the start of the runway at London/ Gatwick, shortening the total distance available for the aircraft. In its bulletin into the incident last March, the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) noted: “The aircraft began its take-off roll from the displaced threshold of Runway 26R rather than the beginning of the runway.”
