Airbus confident of Asia-Pacific airlifter sales

Airbus Defence and Space CEO Michael Schoellhorn has predicted further sales across the company’s airlift portfolio in the foreseeable future.

The opportunities he says come in the wake of the recent evacuation of Kabul, where A400M transports and A330-based Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) flew 120 sorties and evacuated in excess of 120,000 people without dropping a mission.

“It was a game-changer in terms of the recognition and reputation of the A400M,” Schoellhorn said, speaking at the recent Singapore Airshow. “All of our operators used the A400M in Kabul and we are seeing momentum for the A400M after that.”
