Analogic wins TSA CT system contract

Analogic Corporation of Peabody, Massachusetts, is to supply TSA with computed tomography (CT) checkpoint security screening systems.

The $198.4m contract, inclusive of all options, requires Analogic to provide the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) with delivery, installation, and maintenance of its ConneCT Computed Tomography (CT) checkpoint security screening systems.

This multiple year contract is the first awarded under TSA’s new Checkpoint Property Screening Systems (CPSS) programme, which will see Analogic deploy more than 300 mid-size CPSS into airport security checkpoints across the United States. The new CT screening technology is expected to significantly improve aviation security by providing enhanced 3D images to security officers and by limiting divesture and increasing throughput, all in a touch-free environment.

Analogic has been a leader in computed tomography for more than 40 years, with over 2,000 CT systems and gantries deployed worldwide through its OEM security partners.
