As soon as Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS) came out in 2020, gliders were a hot topic within the flight simulation community.

The way Asobo has managed to model dynamic weather in the latest flight sim provides us with real-world weather systems we’d previously thought impossible to recreate in such high fidelity but alongside the obvious impressive graphical quality, there’s a physical manifestation of the weather that offers the perfect opportunity for a simulator pilot to work with winds, thermals, cloud layers and other more complex weather systems.
