B-21 Raider progress

The first software drop for the Northrop Grumman B-21 Raider stealth bomber has taken place, the Senate Armed Services Committee announced on April 18. The importance of software for the B-21 design makes this a significant milestone in the type’s accelerated production schedule. It was stated that the B-21 had successfully completed its preliminary design review. The US Air Force has announced that when the B-21 enters service in the mid-2020s it will use the same bases as the B-1Bs and B-2As it is to replace: Whiteman Air Force Base (AFB) Missouri, Dyess AFB Texas and Ellsworth AFB South Dakota.
