The widebody, G-ZBJB (c/n 38610), can be seen in images circulating on social media, with its nose on the ground.

In a statement to Key.Aero, a spokesperson for the flag carrier described the Dreamliner as a “freighter aircraft” and confirmed that it was damaged while stationary on stand.

They added: “As a freighter only aircraft there were no passengers on board. Safety is always our highest priority and we are investigating the matter.”

According to flight-tracking data, Juliet Bravo had been on the ground at the London hub since returning from Moscow on June 16.

The UK’s Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) confirmed in a statement that it has sent a team to Heathrow to begin an investigation into the incident.

Notably, the damaged jet was the first 787 to be delivered to the flag carrier. It arrived on June 25, 2013 and is reportedly being leased from Japan’s Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation.
