The award was presented to the organisation for its efforts in preventing workplace injuries and improving health standards
Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) has been recognised by the British Safety Council for its commitment to protecting the wellbeing of its employees.
In total, 147 organisations received the accreditation at the International Safety Awards, 2021, which celebrates the companies that have shown productivity in preventing work-related injuries and ill health.
“Long before the pandemic hit, safety was ‘business as usual’ for us,” said Mohammed Yousif Al Binfalah, BAC CEO. “Now, it is even more vital as we work alongside our partners to keep the Kingdom’s aviation sector moving along safely and effectively.”
“With a strong focus on innovation and transparency at the new terminal and across the airport campus, we continue to adhere to government guidelines and international best practices to keep our customers and staff safe and secure as we continue supporting the recovery of the aviation sector.”
Mike Robinson, chief executive of the British Safety Council, added: “The vision of the British Safety Council is that no one should be injured or made ill through their work – anywhere in the world. Achieving this requires more than complying with legislation; it means people committed not only to health and safety, but also to workplace wellbeing and compelling others to follow suit.
“The long list of winners of the International Safety Awards, demonstrates that a significant number of companies recognise that effective management of health and safety risks is a business growth enabler, benefiting not just employees, but organisations and wider society.”
Out of the 387 organisations that won at the awards, 85 were presented with a distinction, 155 with a merit and 147 achieved a pass.
