Bernd Sturm toured some of the remotest areas of Siberia in pursuit of a range of rare and classic Soviet-era aircraft.

When it comes to remote and inhospitable regions, there are few that come close to Siberia. The province spans more than five million square miles (13.1 million m_), equivalent to 77% of Russia’s total landmass. Yet, it is home to just 40m people, making it one of the most sparsely populated areas on the planet.
