Behind the Scenes of Top Gun: Maverick – Filming the aerial sequences

Some of the cast and crew from ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ describe how the stunning flying scenes were captured on film

Jerry Bruckheimer, Producer

“First of all this is a movie that involves aviation, obviously, but an aviation film like this has never been done and chances are will never be done again. That is how accurate everything is that we do – in the air, on the ground, about these pilots, about their lives. It’s a spectacular character study about aviators and what they exactly feel and the stress they go through, the things they go through and how they prepare themselves and how we’ve prepared this movie is extraordinary and I don’t know if anyone will be able to do this again.”

“Filming in the F-18 to me feels like the ultimate self-tape of all time because you’re there with four cameras facing you, two facing out, knowing that you have two hours to get this footage.”
