
THE SPANISH regional airline Binter Canarias has become the first European carrier to order the Embraer E195-E2, the largest model in the new E-Jets E2 range.
The airline has signed a firm order with Embraer for three E195- E2s and taken out purchase rights for two additional aircraft of the same model. The airline will receive its first aircraft in the second half of 2019.
Binter’s aircraft will be configured with 132 seats single-class. The three aircraft will replace the three
Bombardier CRJ1000s Binter currently wet leases. The airline also operates 18 ATR turboprops.
The E195-E2 is due for certification in the first half of 2019. The baseline E190-E2 entered service earlier this year and the smallest E-Jets E2 variant, the E175-E2, is due for certification and service entry in 2021.
By the end of the third quarter, Embraer had received 130 orders for the E195-E2 comprising 73 firm commitments and 57 options.
The E190-E2 has received 146 orders (62 firm, 84 options) so far.
