Designed by Orbx, the aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator is based on real-world CAD drawings provided by the actual aircraft manufacturer, Blackwing Sweden.

It features a highly accurate 3D model and textures with the geometry and materials crafted by industry veteran Russ White. Other details include smudges on the cockpit screens, accurate wear on the buttons and switches, intricate landing gear and individual LEDs that make up the strobe lights.

Other highlights include four liveries and a large canopy that provides excellent visibility from any angle while still retaining high frame rates. Up front, the cockpit features a full suite of Garmin avionics, including a G3X touchscreen, a GMA 345 audio panel, GNC 255 radio, GTX 345 transponder and a built-in GFC 500 autopilot.

The electrical and fuel systems are modelled after the real aircraft with functioning circuit breakers and a custom RS Flight Systems’ Single Lever Power Control (SLPC). The aircraft also sports realistic flight dynamics throughout the entire envelope, tuned with the help of Blackwing Sweden to ensure it matches its real-life counterpart as closely as possible.
The Blackwing is available on OrbxDirect for AUD$29.68 (approx £15.93).
