Bob Sidwick

Bob Sidwick

It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce the sad passing of Bob Sidwick, owner and founder of RC Simulations. Bob was a giant within our industry and a genuinely warm and decent human being. He was always generous with his time and extensive knowledge of all things related to flight simulation and aviation in general. Bob was an active and influential force within the flight sim industry from the very early days of the hobby as a retailer and a producer of both software and hardware. His work with the Air Cadets is of particular note.

In fact, Bob organised the very first flight sim shows to be held in the UK, which took place at the National Motorcycle Museum, in Birmingham. This annual event was held for 12 years and for serious enthusiasts it was always the highlight of their flight simulation calendar. So, it was with shock and almost disbelief that we learned of his untimely passing in May of this year. He will be sadly missed by those who had the privilege and pleasure of knowing him and by the wider industry as a whole. Our thoughts are with his wife Carol and the rest of his family. I would like to dedicate this issue of PC Pilot to Bob.

Best wishes from the PC Pilot team
