Boeing P-8A: Which countries fly the Poseidon?

Boeing continues to seek customers for its P-8 multi-mission maritime aircraft. However, international sales have already accounted for 30% of the purchases. Tom Kaminski concludes his two-part look at the Poseidon

Boeing celebrated the delivery of the 150th P-8A Poseidon multi-mission maritime aircraft (MMA) to the US Navy and International customers in July 2022. The breakdown included 112 aircraft to the US Navy, 12 to Australia, 12 to India, nine to the UK and five to Norway. At that time, the worldwide fleet had flown more than 450,000 hours.

Thus far, the contractor has booked sales of 55 aircraft to nine international customers. India became the first international customer for the Poseidon in January 2009, when it agreed to purchase a customised variant of the aircraft via direct commercial sale.
