Brisbane starts next construction phase

Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) has begun construction of a new warehouse and distribution facility at Brisbane Airport, marked by an official sod turning event.

The industrial facility will be located on Litsea Street in Export Park and will offer approximately 10,000m2 of space to let, including 550m2 of offices and 104 graded on-site car parks. The flexible space will also feature eight on-grade roller shutters, 10m springing height, an ESFR sprinkler system, dual street frontage, and drive-through access within the gated facility.

Construction company Tomkins, which has already completed 12 other projects at the airport, will lead the works.

Martin Ryan, executive general manager commercial at Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC), said: “Demand for industrial property across South East Queensland is increasing and we have seen first-hand the growth within commercial property over the last two years.

“The location is so desirable that we are confident in proceeding prior to a tenant commitment, and we are thrilled to have Tomkins as a partner in this new endeavour.”

The new development is planned for completion by the middle of 2022. Leasing opportunities are available now, with the option to customise the design to meet tenant requirements.
