Returning to the skies in March, the Shuttleworth Collection’s Bristol F.2B Fighter has emerged in significant 22 Squadron clothes. Darren Harbar reflects on this storied machine’s long history, and goes air-to-air with the 1918 biplane

Looking newly resplendent with its polished brass cowling ring and an allnew colour scheme, the Shuttleworth Collection’s Bristol F.2B Fighter has emerged from ‘hibernation’, following more than two years of extensive refurbishment. The fighter is an original example of the type, fitted with a rare Rolls-Royce Falcon powerplant.
