Exercise ‘Clear Sky’ teamed the US Air Force with the Ukrainian Air Force in one of the hottest neighborhoods on the planet.

EXERCISE ‘CLEAR SKY 2018’ could easily be viewed as just another interoperability event in the ongoing raft of US Air Force forays into eastern Europe. However, for a start it mixed F-15C Eagles and Su-27 ‘Flankers’ going head-to-head. More importantly, ‘Clear Sky’ was more about the political, strategic, military, personal and world stage alignments that it represented. It was a big deal.
