A ‘no’ to Tempest
In response to your query in the May issue of ‘AIR International’, “Do you think Tempest will be here in 14 years?”, my answer is, unfortunately, “no”.
The USA spends too much on its military-industrial complex, to the detriment of social programmes. Western Europe has the exact opposite priorities.
History provides reliable predictions for the future. Great Britain has always been a leader in aerospace technologies but since World War Two it has repeatedly cancelled or replaced its own designs with others sourced from the USA.
