The package is based on the 1960s model with square-cut windows, classic Hershey Bar wings and a 180hp naturally aspirated Lycoming O-360 engine. It also includes high-definition 4K liveries and a blank template for creating custom paint jobs.

The panel and interior are period-specific with classic 3D analogue instruments required for IFR flying and updated avionics such as an autopilot and Garmin 430 and 530 GPS systems. The 3D virtual cockpit is also fully interactive with animated knobs, buttons etc.

Other highlights include an authentic flight model and animations such as the cabin door, storm window, front/rear baggage hatches and a toggle button to remove or display the yoke. It also sports custom FMOD sounds, HDR and lighting effects. The aircraft is also Virtual Reality (VR) friendly with click regions and hotspots required for VR gameplay.

The X-Plane 12 model features rain effects, new aircraft lighting and improved flight dynamics. Owners of the X-Plane 11 version can upgrade to the X-Plane 12 for free. It is available on x-plane.org for $29.95 (approx £23,40).
