Cleared hot in Slovenia

Mid-May marked the beginning of some extremely busy weeks for many of Europe’s air arms, with a series of overlapping exercises. One was Adriatic Strike, taking place across the territory of Slovenia. Marcus Vallianos was there.

Single-seat Vzdušné síly Armády České republiky L-159A Advanced Light Combat Aircraft serial 6057 on the flight line at Cerklje ob Krki. The jet is fitted with seven-round pods for CRV7 rockets underwing and is equipped with a centreline Plamen PL-20 cannon.

A driatic Strike 2019 was held between June 2 and 8 – the eighth consecutive exercise of its type – planned and performed under the supervision of the small but highly professional Slovenska vojska (Slovenian Armed Forces).
