Communications fleet grows

The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) is moving forward with plans to increase the US Air Force’s Battlefield Airborne Communications Node (BACN) capability by adding an eighth aircraft to the fleet. The fleet, which is operated by the 430th Expeditionary Electronic Combat Squadron, currently includes four modified Bombardier BD700 Global Express jets under the designation E-11A and three unmanned EQ-4B Global Hawks. In response to an urgent operational need, the AFLCMC will add another EQ-4B in late 2017.
