What is thought to have been the largest Vought Corsair formation flown for 60-odd years was the highlight of the Yankee Air Museum’s Thunder over Michigan show at Ypsilanti during the weekend of 3-4 August. A grand total of 11 examples of the ‘bent-wing bird’ from operators all over the USA converged on the airport, comfortably beating the turn-out of seven at the Corsair and Legends Gathering at Mount Comfort, Indiana in 2002.
