An interview with Eagle Dynamics
EAGLE DYNAMICS
In this interview, Matt Wagner, Senior Producer for Eagle Dynamics (ED), gives us some insights into what we can expect from the highly anticipated DCS: F/A-18C Hornet.
PC Pilot: So to begin this interview, can you tell us why you decided to specifically model the F/A-18C Hornet?
Matt Wagner: DCS: F/A-18C Hornet is a joint project between Eagle Dynamics (responsible for all art, sounds, mission and navigation avionics, sensors) and Belsimtek (working on the flight dynamics, aircraft systems and selected avionics). The focus of our simulation is on reproducing a United States Navy F/A-18C Hornet, LOT 20 [‘LOT’ refers to the production year of the airframe, with each version including previous upgrades - Ed]. This was the last LOT of ‘legacy’ Hornets before manufacturing moved to just producing the Super Hornet. This LOT, from the late 1990s, includes updated engines and several systems. We are specifically recreating the BUNO 165407 jet.
