DCS: Normandy 2.0 interview

DCS: Normandy receives a major map upgrade

Back in 2017, we featured an extensive review of Eagle Dynamics’ excellent DCS: Normandy 1.0 and awarded it our coveted Platinum award. Since then, the map has received a major upgrade by third-party developer Ugra Media. So, we invited Pavel Manchenko, Producer at Ugra Media, to talk to us about the extensive work he and his team has done on upgrading the DCS: Normandy map from version 1.0 to version 2.0.

When developing the airfields, Google Maps was used to determine the exact location, as well as historical aerial photography.

Ugra-Media – the developer

PC Pilot: Hi Pavel, thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to talk with us about DCS: Normandy 2.0. May I start by asking you tell us a little about Ugra Media?

Pavel: Ugra-Media is a company that has been developing various elements of flight simulators since its inception 12 years ago. Today we create detailed maps, ground vehicles and aircraft. Our most important partner is Eagle Dynamics with the DCS project.
