DCS: Persian Gulf Map

DCS World’s stunning new theatre

Earlier this year, Eagle Dynamics reached a major milestone with the merge and open beta release of DCS World 2.5. Paralleling the development of the free-to-play base program of DCS World, there were also resources being poured into two add-on modules that would follow quickly on the heels of the new version of DCS World: the F/A-18C Hornet and the all new Persian Gulf Map. In our previous issue, we took a preliminary look at the Early Access F/A-18C with what promises to be the new bar against which all other modules will be measured. In showcasing the Hornet, it was impossible to ignore the beautiful new Persian Gulf theatre that was released just a week prior to the Hornet. Now we’ll take a look at the new map, assess its potential and see what awaits us in terms of its future development.

An Iranian MiG-29 lying over Dubai is not something you’d expect to see but when war breaks out in DCS World, anything is possible.
