DH Moth centenary celebration announced — when and where will it be?

Organisers plan largest DH60 gathering of modern age and attendance of 100 Moths

The centenary of the maiden flight of the de Havilland DH60 Moth will be notched up on 22 February 2025. To celebrate the milestone at (in principle) a more temperate time of year, the de Havilland Moth Club is planning an event at Old Warden, Bedfordshire, on Thursday 31 July-Friday 1 August 2025, in association with the Shuttleworth Collection.

Old Warden is, of course, home to the world's oldest airworthy Moth, the Shuttleworth-owned DH60 G-EBLV.

The hope is to attract the largest gathering of DH60s since before the war, and to encourage the attendance of 100 Moths in support. A celebratory dinner will take place on the Thursday evening, with a public flying display during Friday afternoon. The early announcement of the dates will, the club intends, permit overseas owners to plan their visits. More details nearer the time.

DH60s, no doubt including some of these, will mass at Old Warden in 2025 for the type’s centenary.
