Douglas DC-3 lands in X-Plane

Leading Edge Simulations has announced version 2 of the Douglas DC-3 for X-Plane 12 is now available.

Version 2 is built from the ground up with a high-definition 3D model and extensive use of PBR textures and details such as particle system effects and custom FMOD sounds.

The package sports two variants, one with a 1940s-style cockpit and a DC-3 equipped with modern instruments. It also comes with a custom Sperry A-3A autopilot and support for the RealityXP GNS/GTN GPS.

Other highlights include accurate electrical, hydraulics and fuel systems, as well as an authentic engine simulation. A maintenance manager can also be used to track the status of the aircraft, set weight and balance and view the checklists.

The DC-3 is available on the X-Aviation website for $49.95. All DC-3 v1 owners will be entitled to a 35% discount.
