GERMANY DROPS F-35 FROM FIGHTER TENDER

IN A SURPRISE move, Berlin has dropped the F-35A from the competition to replace its remaining 89 Tornado fighter-bombers from around 2030. The decision leaves the Eurofighter EF2000 and Boeing F/A-18E/F in the running for the Luftwaff e requirement, with the European fighter widely seen as the favorite.
