Electronic countermeasures upgrade

The US Air Force issued a request for information (RFI) on August 6 for a near-term electronic countermeasures capability for large aircraft, including the Lockheed Martin C-130 series, as well as other tankers and transports such as the KC-10A Extender, C-17A Globemaster III, and KC-135 Stratotanker. The RFI asked for industry to identify advanced next-generation threat warning and electronic countermeasures systems that could be installed for testing in three diferent timeframes: three to nine months, nine to 18 months and over 18 months, suggesting that the Air Force is interested in a rapid procurement.
