Embraer Praetor 600 deliveries begin

EMBRAER ANNOUNCED on June 24, 2019, that it has delivered the first example of its Praetor 600 super mid-size business jet, to an undisclosed customer in Europe.

Embraer says the Praetor 600 has the range to link London with New York in either direction.

The delivery ceremony was held at Embraer’s production facility in São José dos Campos, where the aircraft is currently assembled alongside the company’s Legacy 450 and 500 aircraft.

Michael Amalfitano, President and Chief Eexecutive Officer of Embraer Executive Jets, said: “We are thrilled to deliver the first Praetor 600 and we are confident that our customer will be fascinated with the most disruptive and technology advanced super mid-size business jet to enter the market.”

Embraer launched the Praetor 600 at the North American Business Aviation’s Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition at Las Vegas in October 2018. The aircraft gained type certification from Brazil’s Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil (ANAC or National Civil Aviation Agency of Brazil) on April 18, 2019 and this was followed by European Aviation Safety Agency and US Federal Aviation Administration on May 20, 2019.

The smaller Praetor 500 is now in the final stages of its type certification campaign and deliveries to the first customers are expected to begin in the second half of 2019.

Final completion of the Praetor family will shortly relocate to Embraer’s North American facility in Melbourne, Florida, where the smaller Phenom 100 and 300 aircraft are now completed. Following approval of the Boeing Brasil Commercial joint venture with Boeing in 2020, production of green Praetor airframes will move to Embraer’s other production facility in Gavião Peixoto, before they are flown to Melbourne for completion.
