Emirates signs codeshare agreement with Azul

The partnership will see customers connecting onto each airlines’ networks via Sao Paulo  

Emirates has announced a new codeshare with Azul Linhas Aereas Brasileiras, allowing customers to connect on flights operated by both carriers at Sao Paulo in Brazil. 

Under the codeshare agreement, Emirates will add its own unique flight number to those operated by Azul and with one ticket, customers can access check-in, bag check and boarding for every leg of their journey.

Passengers will be able to connect to Emirates flights from Sao Paulo/Guarulhos from eight airports in Brazil including, Rio De Janeiro/Santos Dumont, Belem, Belo Horizonte, Cuiaba, Curitiba, Juazeiro Do Norte, Porto Alegre and Recife, starting on August 25.   

Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ CCO said: “Emirates is delighted to be entering into a codeshare partnership with Azul to offer our customers an enhanced, smooth and convenient connectivity between eight cities in Brazil to/from Dubai and our global network through Sao Paulo. Brazil is an important market for Emirates and our cooperation with Azul underscores Emirates’ commitment to strengthen our reach in the region and open up more options for our customers.” 

The Dubai-based carrier currently operates five weekly flights to Sao Paulo, utilising a Boeing 777-300ER while codeshare partner Azul operates 700 daily flights to 120 destinations across North and South America as well as select cities in Europe.
