Eurofighter Typhoon DA4 on its way to Newark

Eurofighter Typhoon DA4 ZH560 Moves to New Museum

The Imperial War Museum (IWM) is set to transfer Eurofighter Typhoon DA4 ZH560 to Nottinghamshire’s Newark Air Museum.

Negotiations began several months ago after IWM announced the prototype’s availability following a review of its extensive aviation collection. The move to Newark, scheduled to take place in early 2020, is apt as the DA4 was once based at RAF Coningsby in neighbouring Lincolnshire where it was used to train RAF ground crews.

The museum’s acquisition officer Dave Hibbert said: “We are honoured, excited and extremely proud to have secured such a fantastic airframe for the collection. We’re especially grateful for the assistance provided by IWM staff in helping us to start the process of undertaking this landmark transfer. We look forward to working with the team at Duxford during the coming months to complete this move in an efficient and professional manner.”
