Eurovision: Europe's drone ambitions

The Eurodrone platform is expected to be the focus of attention for Europe in the coming years, delivering a medium altitude, long endurance (MALE) uncrewed aerial vehicle (UAV) for a quartet of the continent’s leading military powers.

Spearheaded by Europe’s Organisation for Joint Armament Cooperation (OCCAR), the programme will see Airbus Defence and Space acting as the co-ordinating company for some of the continent’s other leading defence players, including Leonardo and Dassault Aviation, to produce 60 MALE UAVs for the existing four customers in France, Germany, Italy and Spain.
