After Israel and the United States joined forces for one of the largest ever joint exercises, Babak Taghvaee reflects on the objectives of Juniper Oak
On January 23 and 26, 2023, US and Israeli Air Forces, together with US Army and Navy Aviation, participated in Exercise Juniper Oak-23.2, which also included a large number of US and Israeli Navy vessels, including the aircraft carrier USS George H W Bush.
During the exercise, 117 fixed-wing aircraft, 15 helicopters and four drones from participating forces carried out a series of operations to enhance their level of interoperability during strike, suppression of enemy air defence and combat search and rescue operations. The participants achieved many milestones in readying themselves to carry out potential airstrikes against Iran’s nuclear facilities.
