As the era of Microsoft’s Flight Simulator franchise started its journey back in 1982, the evolution of this product is not known by more recent participants in our hobby. One fact that seems to have become lost is that in 2009, Microsoft created a commercial version of FSX: SP2 titled ESP. This code allowed purchasers to create custom scenarios with which they could practice specific types of operations.
