Firefighting C-130 in fatal Australian crash likely stalled

A Lockheed C-130 tanker aircraft that crashed while conducting aerial firefighting in Australia likely stalled when flying in hazardous conditions, an official report into the incident has concluded.

All three crew on board were killed when the aircraft – N134CG an EC-130Q variant – impacted rising terrain while performing a climbing left turn away from the drop site near Peak View in the New South Wales Snowy Mountains region, located approximately 50 miles (82km) south of Canberra, on January 23, 2020.
