First Challenger 650 for Swiss Air-Rescue Rega

BOMBARDIER ANNOUNCED in late April that it delivered the first of three Challenger 650s configured for the air ambulance role to Swiss Air-Rescue Rega during a ceremony at Peterborough, Canada on April 9, 2018.

The second and third aircraft will be delivered later in 2018 and the trio will replace the company’s older Challenger 604 fleet.

Swiss Air-Rescue Rega is a not-for-profit organisation and a pioneer in aeromedical evacuation. The company has operated a series of Challenger aircraft in the role since 1982 and also has a fleet of 17 helicopters.

David Coleal, President of Bombardier Business Aircraft said: “It is incredibly rewarding for us that Bombardier jets help save so many lives while in service with Rega and we are thrilled that they will continue to do so for many years to come.”

Ernst Kohler, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Management Board of Rega, added: “Bombardier’s Challenger aircraft have more than proven their ability to carry out critical missions over the years. With these three new, high-performing air ambulances we are ensuring that Rega can continue to provide reliable and professional assistance to patients all over the world throughout the next 15 years.”
